The 27th edition of the Rina Sala Gallo International Piano Competition in Monza was nothing short of breathtaking. This renowned event, held at the pinnacle of pianistic excellence, showcased an array of extraordinary talent, with each finalist pushing the boundaries of artistic mastery and technical brilliance. Under the esteemed chairmanship of Roberto Prosseda, the jury faced the impossible task of selecting winners from a group of outstanding performers.

The First Prize was rightfully awarded to the exceptional Konstantin Emelyanov, whose performances mesmerized the audience and jurors alike. His artistry, profound interpretation, and technical precision made him the standout competitor, earning him not only the top honor but also the coveted Premio Speciale del Pubblico—a testament to the deep connection he forged with the audience. Emelyanov’s triumph was further amplified by receiving the Student Jury Award, reflecting his ability to touch listeners of all ages.

Second Prize went to the brilliant Jonas Aumiller, whose powerful interpretations and refined musicality also garnered him multiple awards. Aumiller’s receipt of the prestigious “Massimo Galli” Award, recognizing the best artistic performance from the semifinals, along with the Chopin Prize in Memory of Febea D’Andria D’Eredità, further cemented his position as a force to be reckoned with in the international piano scene. In addition, the Milan Symphony Orchestra awarded him their special prize, signaling his readiness to grace world-class concert stages.

Third Prize, sponsored by the Rotary Club Monza East and Rotary Club Monza West, was claimed by the immensely talented Sohta Miura, who delivered performances rich in depth and expression. Miura’s placement in this fiercely competitive field is a testament to his exceptional musical voice.

A special mention goes to Isa Trotta, the youngest semifinalist, who was awarded the “Consiglio dell’Associazione Musicale Rina Sala Gallo” prize, highlighting the bright future that awaits her.

The entire competition was a celebration of the highest levels of pianistic artistry, closing with thunderous applause both in the concert hall and online, as a captivated global audience joined in celebrating these remarkable musicians. The 27th Monza Rina Sala Gallo International Piano Competition will be remembered not only for its extraordinary talents but also for the passion and dedication that filled every note, leaving a lasting impression on all who witnessed it.
