21st Queen Elisabeth Competition 2025, Belgium

In 2025, the Queen Elisabeth Competition will be dedicated to the piano for the 21st time. The best young pianists from the four corners of the world will compete in Brussels, from 5 to 31 May. As from February 2024, the candidates will be able to consult the rules below.
Candidates are aged at least 18 and have not yet reached the age of 31 on 31 December 2024.

Schedule:

First round piano 2025/  5 May 2025 – Saturday 10 May 2025

Semi-final piano 2025/  12 May 2025 – Saturday 17 May 2025

Final piano 2025/ 26 May 2025 – Saturday 31 May 2025

Prizes & Awards:

INTERNATIONAL QUEEN ELISABETH GRAND PRIZE/ First Prize – Queen Mathilde Prize – EUR 25.000

BELGIAN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PRIZE/ Second Prize, awarded by the Belgian Science Policy – EUR 20.000

COUNT DE LAUNOIT PRIZE/ Third Prize – EUR 17.000

PRIZE OF THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE BELGIAN COMMUNITIES/ Fourth Prize, awarded alternately by the Government of the German-speaking Community of Belgium, the Flemish Community or the French Community/ – EUR 12.500

BRUSSELS-CAPITAL REGION PRIZE/ Fifth Prize – EUR 10.000

CITY OF BRUSSELS PRIZE/ Sixth Prize – EUR 8.000

WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE NATIONAL LOTTERY/ each of the six unranked laureates will receive – EUR 4.000
