1st Chopin Pleyel International Piano Competition, France

Created jointly by the Centre des monuments nationaux, the Nohant Festival Chopin and Pleyel Pianos, this new international competition dedicated to Chopin will take place from August 15 to 23, 2026 in Nohant, on the George Sand estate.

Schedule:

1st Round/ August 16th to August 18th, 2026/ 24 candidates

2nd Round/ August 19th and August 20th, 2026

Final in 2 Rounds/ August 21st and August 22nd, 2026/ 6 candidates

• One in recital (afternoon)
• The other with orchestra (evening)

Winners’ Concert/August 23rd, 2026 afternoon

1st prize – €10,000 – a Pleyel grand piano – a Pleyel Magistral system – a Pleyel imperator

2nd prize – €8,000 – a Pleyel upright piano – a Pleyel Magistral system – a Pleyel imperator

3rd prize – €5,000 – a Pleyel Magistral system – a Pleyel imperator 250 loudspeaker

4th to 6th prizes – a Pleyel Magistral system – a Pleyel imperator 250 loudspeaker

Special prizes may be awarded:
