The VII Paris International Music Competition, hosted online from March 1st to April 1st, 2024, under the auspices of the Association of Culture “Melos APS” based in Italy, showcased an impressive array of musical talent from around the world. With participants from Italy, Bulgaria, Ireland, Lithuania, Poland, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Thailand, China, and Canada, the competition embodied an international spirit of musical excellence.
Judged by a distinguished panel of experts from prestigious music institutions across Europe, Asia, and beyond, the competition featured categories spanning keyboard instruments, strings, winds, and chamber music, catering to a wide range of musical talents across various age groups.
In the keyboard instruments category, young prodigies from Thailand, Ireland, and Kazakhstan displayed remarkable virtuosity, earning top honors and demonstrating the depth of talent present at a young age. The piano performances were especially noteworthy, with contestants demonstrating technical prowess and musical sensitivity beyond their years.
The string section witnessed stellar performances from Poland, with participants excelling in solo and chamber music categories. Notable mentions include Liya Luo from Poland, who clinched the top prize in Category C (11-12 years old), and Martuszewska Weronika, also from Poland, who captivated the judges with her mastery of the violin in Category E (15-17 years old).
Accordion and wind instruments also had their shining moments, with young talents from Poland showcasing exceptional skill and artistry. Of special mention are Franciszek Wójcik and Igor Chyrc, both from Poland, who received top honors in their respective categories, impressing the jury with their command over the saxophone.
